Colour and Type development- Bear

After our last group meeting I began by creating some layout ideas for the three cards we will be creating looking at what bear would look like. I also liked the idea of having the card fronts portrait and the information on the back landscape.

I wanted to look at the colours the bear cards already use however I feel like they are quite dark and that they colours we use should stick to a smaller palette of colours which are either bright or pastels. I also think that when my group partners are creating the illustrations we should consider creating them in a more handrawn style that looks like it is painted our pencil coloured.

When thinking about a main font I can use I like the idea of using a font that is used in books. Century schoolbook is an old style font that related to books and is clear and easy to read. I decided to make the font look old like the old fairytales by making it looked chipped and battered. I think this little added detail makes the font look fun and different and I think it could stand out against the illustrations
