After the meet up with my group I decided to do some research into the bear cards more so I purchased some of bears products to have a better look at the cards. I made notes of what I thought were positives and negatives about the cards.
Some positives of the cards was that there were rewards for collecting bear codes which will encourage children to keep collecting. Also there was a small game within the card of finding an object and other hidden things.
However there are negatives to the designs such as it being quite cluttered. I also feel that the mission-o-meter is not very clear or necessary. The facts can also be not very interesting to the younger side of the target market.
I decided to follow on with the theme of Culture. My idea is to have bear traveling to different countries and learning more about the fashion, food and other interesting facts. To make the cards stand out I wanted the back of all the cards to create a large map of the world when put together as children enjoy puzzles and that will make them want to keep collecting so they can finish the puzzle. I also thought that some parts could be foiled to be special edition.
I did some mockup layouts of what could be included. I will be meeting up with my group so we can show our development of themes.
