Initial Designs and SBSK tone of voice.

I looked at all the SBSK design choices, there wasn't much visuals but there was consistent colour choices of a red, yellow and blue. I want to bring these bright colours into my designs so it will link to them visually and because they are engaging.

In my layouts I have looked at featuring the children interviewed on a double page. One page will have a small part of the interview the other information on the childs condition.

My idea for looks is bright fun shapes, however I need to figure out how to make the text stand out and be easily readable against the colours.

I feel I need to add the shapes together in a variety of ways to create a fun engaging background.

I added the information that I felt was needed a screenshot from the video. I also included a circle which I plan on adding to every page to add key information about what you need to know.

Feedback
I felt a bit stuck with my design not liking how the text was working with the background therefore I had a crit with someone who is more specialised in type.

  • She said I should make the background so that the text is only in one colour and not overlapping this will make it more readable. She also said I should try and include illustrations because children will be more drawn to it.
