Book content ideas and critique

I am really excited to start this brief as I love book design and in the brief it says that we can create a book
informed on our personal interests.
I knew that I wanted to create a book that you could read but that also would have fun activities as they
are the style of books that I enjoy the design of the most. I wanted to have my book subject based on
something that matters to me and that something is to help people. Something that I would like to target
in my book is positivity and have my book be a guide to try to help people be positive.
I started my ideas by creating some mind maps gaining ideas for content and design of the publication.
I know I want my target audience to be young adults and students,
I also want to have factual informationnin articles. In my book I
want to include a mix of quotes, photography, illustration and
activities. I would like the book to be somewhat smaller so it is
light and easy to carry around and for the book to be
saddle stitched.

  

I had a group critique with level 4 and 5 students about the content and style of my book and I got some helpful feedback.

• A5 or pocket size seems best for use and target audience
• The front cover should not be to serious or give much away as some people resist help.
• Think about stock that is strong but can be wrote on.
