Welcome To Leeds Brief

For our first brief we were given a task to work collaboratively. I was excited for the challenge as I have never had to work in a group within my Alevel Graphic Design course. The brief was to create a map of leeds and plot at least three enterprises by using typography, illustration, symbols or photography. We had a lot of initial ideas but soon came to the idea to create symbols digitally. We visited the places that we had to plot on our map, which was Granary Wharf, Leeds Bridge, Monro House and the Victorian Quarter.
We found it difficult as a team to come to a clear final idea so we decided to each create some symbols and put down some ideas for the map. Early on we came to a group decision to keep everything simple and monochrome. Here are some of my initial ideas for symbols.

By the end of the project we came to a final idea that made our work a digital map used to give information to people about places in leeds. We included an owl in our designs as it is used in the logo of leeds.
